Has it ever crossed your mind what is “Tranquility”? (^-^)/ Or have you ever stayed in a place where there was absolute silence and all you could hear was a low humming sound?
Recently, I had an opportunity to visit the countryside in Japan and the nightfall in particular was peaceful and so quiet that I could hear a pin dropped. Relative to the buzz created by busy cities, the tranquility in the countryside was a total bliss. I have also enjoyed the undisturbed freedom to think and rest, without being forced to hear strangers’ telephone conversations or noisy ring tones. A certain degree of sacrifice and discipline have to be exercised for the general public as a whole in order to exchange for a more peaceful environment.
Have the freedom to do what ones want is good, however, if everyone selfishly doing whatever they want will definitely create a hostile and stressful way of life.
At the beginning, I was uncomfortable under such quietness. A noiseless world was rather frightening and made me drowsy. But after awhile, you’d adjust and intoned with a clear head that some hard questions would be easily solved. It was a wonder how easy it was to listen to your heart under tranquility.
To summarize my experience, I now make an effort to steal a moment of time in peace and quiet every day, however short it is, to listen to my heart. Think of it like a form of meditation. Your highly strung emotion will calm down and it’s really worth a try. Especially for those of you who might be under pressure and are desperate to release the tension by telling friends or families what terrible situation you are in, instead of loading the burdens to others, you could try to meditate.
