Pat Heung is situated at New Territories and is a

place where you can enjoy Big Bowl Feast (Poon Choi).

Especially in Chinese New Year time, people like to go

to enjoy the feast. I have paid several visits to Pat

Heung with my friends. The meal is served with a big

tub with all the cooked food inside. They include meat

like pork, beef, chicken, seafood, meat & fish balls.

Seasonal vegetables and other vegetarian food like

bean curd stick, bean curd puff can also be found.

For the just past Chinese New Year when I went

to Pat Heung, I also got the chance to see the

traditional Chinese Lion Dance. It is an activity

mostly carried out during the Chinese New Year

to celebrate the Festival. That day the show was

organised by some district leaders. The leaders

hosted the ceremony by dotting the lion eyes.

Following was the lion dance show. At this time,

onlookers were excited and they used to put

red-pocket into the lion mouth which they

believed such action would bring them good

luck and fortune for the whole year.
