On 19 th august in Moscow all the Orthodox believers celebrated the Transfiguration Day.

On this day Jesus Christ showed to the apostles his divine appearance. And they saw that he is really the God not just a man.

去る8月19日モスクワでは正教徒たちの「Transfiguration Day（キリスト変容の祝日）」というお祝いがありました。この日キリストが使徒たちの前に現れ、人間ではなく神のようになったと言われたという聖書の記述に基づくものです。

This holiday is called Apple Spas and is very popular among the Russians. Apples and grapes are traditionally brought to churches to be blessed after the Divine Liturgy on the day of the Transfiguration.

このお祝いはロシアでは「Apple Spas」と呼ばれて、親しまれています。

信者たちはりんごや武道を教会へ持ち寄り、変容の日のミサの後祝福して頂きます。

Actually any other fruit may be brought. This begins the "Blessing of First Fruits" for the year. People eat fresh apples and make wishes. This tradition dates back to even pagan times then this holiday marked the beginning of autumn and harvesting.

実際には他のフルーツを持ち寄ることもあります。

元々は一年の最初のフルーツを祝福するというもので、人々は新鮮なりんごを食べて願いをかけます。

この伝統は正教が広まるより前の時代にさかのぼり、秋の始まりと収穫を祝う祝日と考えられます。
