On 19 January Orthodox Church celebrated one of 12 main Christian events – The Baptizing Day.
1月19日正教会では12のキリスト教イベントの一つ、The Baptizing Day（洗礼祭）が行われました。
According to tradition all water this night becomes holy and healing. All the sins will be forgiven and all the illnesses will be cured if you bath this night.
伝統によると、この日の夜全ての水は聖水に変わり、この日入浴すると全ての罪は許され、全ての病気が治ると言われています。
So after church service thousands of believers go to rivers, ponds or lakes . They do holes in ice and throw themselves in icy water. This time the temperature was – 15 C, by the way.
その為教会での儀式の後、数千の信者たちは川や池、湖へ行きます。そこで氷に穴を開け、冷水に飛び込みます。ちなみにこの時期、モスクワの気温は－15℃程度です。
