皆様、こんにちは。
以前にサイパンの交通標識を少しご紹介しましたが今日は重要な交通ルールをご紹介します。運転しているとこういう光景がでてきます。
車が止まっています。その先にあの見覚えのある黄色いバス。ハリウッド映画によくお目見えするのでご存知の方も多いと思いますが、スクールバスです。
静止画なので分かりにくいですが、止まっている車両はチカチカ
とハザードを出しています。子供たちがちゃんと道路を渡り切るのを見届けてからようやく車両はまた動き出します。
止まろうとしてスクールバスは、ストップサイン
を出しながら止まります。絶対追い越してはいけません。反対側の車両もかならず止まります。たとえ、子どもたちが自分の車両を渡っても道路を渡り切るまで見守ります。
それから信号のない横断歩道はとくに気を付けてくださいね。信号のない横断歩道を歩いている歩行者がいたら、または歩こう、としている歩行者がいたら日本でも同じかとはおもいますがハザードを出して止まってあげてくださいね。そして歩行者が渡り切るのを見守ってあげてくださいね～。私は最近、ずっと徒歩通勤をしています。横断歩道にもなっていない普通の道路を渡ります。そんな時、いじわるそうな見かけの車（表現は悪いですが、たとえば真っ黒のスモークを貼った、中が見えないピックアップの車とか。。。
）でも優しく止まってくれます。ときどき、乗せてあげようか？と言ってくれる車もあります。（そういう車にはI AM OK, THANK YOU～と言って絶対乗りません。善意の言葉ですがやっぱり知らない人ですから皆さんも絶対乗らないでくださいね）。
車の運転も、歩く時も、日本でも、サイパンでも、気を付けてお過ごしください。
