This week I visited The Broad, a contemporary arts museum, located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.
I was particularly interested in seeing the special exhibition by Yayoi Kusama "Infinity Mirrors". Below are a few photos from some of the mirrored rooms.
The above are just a few of the works of art displayed at the special exhibition. Yayoi Kusama's special exhibition is only for a limited time and will cost you about $25~$30, but if you have a chance to go, I would definitely recommend it.
Now up to the second floor. The second floor is not part of the special exhibition. It is a part of the museum's collections of art which is open for the public to see year-round FOR FREE!!
There are various types of pieces of art from various artists on this floor.
From painting to...
abnornally humongus...things.
But the piece of art that caught my attention the most was by another Japanese artist named Takashi Murakami. I can't quite explain what I liked about it, but others seemed to agree with me as his work drew a crowd at the center of the second floor.
The Broad is definitely worth visiting, but be aware that it is very popular, so getting into the museum may not be as easy as some of the other museum in Los Angeles. I highly recommend that you reserve your tickets online. If not, you'll be waiting in a loooooong loooong line just like me. But I must say, it was worth it.
