Grey Block Pizza

Hi Everyone!

While Americans aren't the inventors of pizza, people know that we truly love our pizza dishes in America. You can find many pizza places all around Southern California, from fast food to dine-in restaurant establishments. And as pizza gained more and more popularity, people started getting creative with their pizza toppings as well, and now you can find all sorts of pizzas.

Enter the salad pizza. In true typical Santa Monica fashion, enter a "healthy" pizza that is literally just salad placed on top of a slice of pizza, and dubbed the salad pizza. We're not just talking about a little extra arugula sprinkled on top, but a full on salad!

Grey Block Pizza claims to be the home of the original salad pizza. While I don't know if that's true, I will say, never before have I seen it elsewhere, and in this style, until this place. But this pizza is my favorite pizza of all time.

グレーブロックピザというところに行きました！いろんな種類のピザがありますが、一番有名なのはサラダピザです！とてもとても美味しくてちょっとヘルシーな気分になれるピザです。

Located in Santa Monica, right across the street from Santa Monica Community College, this is the pizza place to go to for hungry students. (Of course, you don't need to be a student to eat here, but they do give student discounts!)

From the outside, the place is unassuming and small, a grey building with "Grey Block Pizza" painted on it and a pizza sign protruding from it. There's a small parking space with some beautiful artwork on the walls as well.

When you step inside, you can choose between many pizza choices. There are choices for meat lovers, for veggie lovers, for cheese lovers, and everything in between. You can even order a gluten free crust!

Of course, my favorite will forever be the salad pizza, which sounds gimmicky but it's definitely not lacking in flavor.

I've also tried the "Hunter Pizza" which contains an array of meat toppings like pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and ham which was delicious as well, especially since it was freshly-baked. About the same price as the average pizza shop, you can't beat the taste.
