Point Vicente Lighthouse is a lighthouse in Palos Verdes that everyone who comes hiking wants to visit. Unfortunately, you cannot get near the lighthouse most of the time.
It is only open to the public from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. the second Saturday of each month. Even then, you cannot enter the lighthouse.
Actually, the lighthouse area is a little famous. It's been used in several movies, some of which are mentioned in the nearby lighthouse museum.
You can also visit the nearby interpretive center to learn more about the area or borrow binocular during whale watching season. You can sometimes see a whale without binocular too, so it's a very nice place to walk or have a picnic.
