Have you heard of 85C (Degree) Bakery?!
cafe, cake, tea, and cofee shop
It's the right temperature for tea and for baking.
This large Taiwanese bakery has hit my hometown in Rowland Heights/Hacienda about an year and a half ago, yet it is still busy.
Recently they opened one in West Covina, and there is also the popular Irvine store.
I usually like going at the late hours, since there are less people.
Store Hours are:
Mon-Thu 7 am - 10 pm
Fri-Sat 7 am - 12 am
Sun 8 am - 10 pm
It kind of becomes a social hang-out for young peeps who want to have a chat over tea, coffee, cake, or bread. People stay here for hours.
It's busy with people coming in and out, so you can buy your goodies and leave anytime too.
Mom and I like to snack on bread and we come here for some pasteries.
There are at least 2 dozen varieties of rolls or breads from sweet to plain. It's too hard to count.
This place is huge.
Let's start with the bakery section to the right.
See the trays and thongs?!
Step 1: Grab a tray and chose your goodies.
I got my cream cheese fluffy bread on my tray as I check out the other breads.
There will be plenty of bakery staff to bring out the fresh baked goods and also answer any questions you have on the contents and bread types.
They have Taiwanese bread such as the Mochi Egg Tart that Mom loves and soft cake with vanilla custard & Taro. There are also western favorites like the blueberry or rasberry pastry.
Step 2: Check the label, open the glass case, and use thongs to capture that bread!
Step 3: Take home! o(^▽^)o
The staff kindly wrap each bread in individual clear bags, or they can place them in boxes if you would like. Make sure to tell them your preference as they ring up your items.
Okay, this is the left hand of the store where the drinks and cakes are served.
I didn't buy any this time, but I usually like coming here with my gals to sit and chat.
The huge three screen television has the menu listed in the middle, the orders on one screen, and specialities on the other screen. Pretty nice.
You can actually order whole cakes, slices, teas, and coffees here.
My favorite is their strawberry flavored italian panna cotta with fresh berries on top.
When it's a nice evening I do enjoy sitting outdoors, but there are also nice tables and chairs that you can enjoy in the store as well.
You can take your goodies bags home, or dine in as well.
