Hi Everyone!!
Anyone else get a craving for delicious cold beer during this hot
California summer?
I sure get a massive hankering for one (or five) of those
blistering evenings.
Last time I was in Sonoma County, I had this craving for..
beer. Yes, I know Sonoma County is know for its remarkable wines
and wineries. But I was looking for a little variety after having
my fill at various wineries in the area. Anyway,
I decided to stop by a famous micro brewery in Santa Rosa for the
evening, known as "Russian River Brewing Company".
This brewery was founded by one of the most prolific
microbrewers in the US, Vinnie Cilurzo, who is often noted as
founding the double IPA.
All that aside, the menu had an abundance of local
Californian brewed beers, many with very stong and tart notes.
I of course went for the sampler. $22 for 20 pours. Remarkable
price for high-quality beers of unique assortment!
Definitely enough beer to get that happy weekend buzz.
FYI, Sunday apparently has a happy hour so each beer is
$3.75 per glass. Be prepared to have to wait around
for a while before you can get seating, though.
Our server was an overwhelming beer enthusiast
who would not STOP spouting off everything he knew
about each and every flavor of beer on the menu.
Yes, he named and described each flavor on the sampler
in his own beer geek jargon.
Whatever, great beer. If you`re within the 50 mile radius
it`s most definitely worth the visit.
