Los Angeles weather confuses me, as the random heat waves that occur

this close to Halloween throw me off and make me crave something to

battle the heat. One of my favorite foods to eat during a heatwave is

oysters.

Did you think they were a delicacy a bit too pricey for your

budget? Look no further than EMC Seafood & Raw bar`s happy hour

oyster menu! EMC is located in Koreatown, Irvine, and Topanga. 

Luckily I am within walking distance to the Koreatown location, so I

decided to check it out. 

Check out the one dollar oysters below: (Yes I ordered two

dozen for a party of two)

Venue: Beautiful venue with lots of seating.

Some of the seats at the table were rather cramped and

I had to move my chair at one point to let the ice man through- 9/10

Service: Friendly servers, uni pasta took a bit long, but what can I say;

it`s worth the wait- 8/10

Menu:

Oysters- large, juicy, mouthwatering, fresh, on the side horseradish, hot

sauce, ponzu sauce, all the basics are provided. Go for the cold water

oysters from Vancouver. They are the largest and most succulent. 10/10

Uni pasta- Rich, buttery, flavorful. I always want a second portion but

stop myself because it`s a little too pricey at $26. They most definitely

use copious amounts of uni butter, which is understandably expensive.

Happy hour menu: 8/10 (If they included uni pasta in their happy hour it

would be a solid 9/10.

EMC`s happy hour includes $5 wine, draft beer, and well drinks, as well

as select appetizer items.

Fresh oysters are $1.25 a pop. The happy hour is from 10pm to 2am

Friday- Saturday, and 10pm to midnight Sunday to Thursday.

Oyster shooter: Also, one particular menu item I would (not really)

recommend was the oyster shooter. Disappointingly small and lacking in

flavor for $8. 6/10

Wings- 6 wings for $10. It was really delicious though, but too steep in

my opinion. 7/10

If I had one complaint, it would be the rather high prices on the menu.

But the happy hour is amazing, and the quality of the items would make

any seafood lover`s heart melt. So... definitely worth a solid try.
