One of my favorite places to go for lunch in Los Angeles is Fisherman’s Outlet at 529 S Central Avenue, in Los Angeles. The food is great and the atmosphere is casual (think self-serve trays and picnic tables).
They are only open for lunch Monday through Saturday from 10am till 330pm, closed on Sunday.
The superior quality of the food is evident by the long lines every day. Be prepared to wait 15 to 20 minutes to order your food and another 10 minutes to receive your food. The wait is worth it!
They only offer seafood and the fish is either grilled or fried.
The deep fried lunch prices are about $13 including tax (no tip necessary). You can get fish, scallops, and shrimp or you can choose two of the above for the same price.
The grilled fish is a little more expensive and the variety of choices is much larger. You can get giant shrimp, giant scallops, salmon, tuna, sword fish, sea bass and more. Prices range from $16 for the grilled salmon to $24 for the sea bass. The fish is fresh and not frozen so the taste is really good!
They also have a separate side for seafood salads and soups. They offer tuna, shrimp, and real crab meat salads. You can get one or all three on your salad for under $13. The soups are sold separately and include clam chowder or lobster chowder for about $6 for a cup.
You can get the food “to go” or you can sit at their many picnic tables outside and eat al fresco.
Be sure to bring a big appetite as the portions are LARGE!
Next time you come to LA try it!
