Dear bloggers, we're publishing many interesting articles on how to spend your holidays in Italy but this time I'd like to take some time to present a short lesson on italian daily speech ...lets say V.I.P. Very Important Phrases n.1 and please let me know if you have enjoyed it and you’d like to go ahead with the n.2

First of all the very basic things you have to know to be just a little bit “italian” is how to introduce yourself into a conversation and greeting your interlocutor.

In italian we have basically 2 polite ways of introducing a conversation:

“Buongiorno” - good morning- you can use from the early morning up to early afternoon

“Buonasera” - good evening- you can use from early afternoon till night

“Ciao” - This is an additional very common word to use if you need to talk to some young person or someone you may have known in advance and you're a little bit acquainted with him or her.*Ciao sounds always very nice for us italians*

In italian we have basically 1 polite way to close a conversation and at the same time greeting your interlocutor:

Arrivederci -goodbye- You can use it almost in every situation to finish a conversation.This is always the last word you use before leaving the conversation and the person you're talking with so you can't be wrong.

Ciao - This is a very useful word so if you have used to start your conversation you can use also to close it and greets your interlocutor.
