Dear Bloggers,
this month I'd like to show you a very beautiful place where I have been recently and that I hope you all may visit once in a life time : Sicily!
First of all I'd like to mention the kindness and hospitality of sicilian people, I was really surprised about that! They provided many useful information about places to see, how to reach them and also good suggestions about restaurants.
My trip started from Catania airport and continued to the south of the island - Sicura, Noto, and small cities around.
These are photos I took at "Cala mosche", a very famous beach beetwen Avola and Pachino.
This is very close to the "Oasi di Vendicari" a protected natural oasis, where you can feel the sound of silence and relax yourself sorrounded by nature.
Togheter with nature, Sicily has also a very strong baroque tradition that comes out every corner of the region from buildings, cathedrals and churches.
These are photos of Siracusa and its very center that is called Ortigia.
Temple of Apollo in doric style from VI A.c.
The famous Cathedral in Ortigia in baroque style
Amazing mix of nature with beaches and old buildings in the historical center of Ortigia.
A very attractive seafront view
And after walking the all day you may feel hungry, so you can restore yourself with the original "Cannolo siciliano" Sicilian roll made of sweet ricotta cheese and other small magic secret ingredients that makes them super tasty :)
After Siracusa I moved to Noto, where I had a great time and where I could tried the real sicilian coocking!
This is a photo of the Cathedral at night, for the ones interested in some more baroque buildings
And those are pictures of very fresh and tasty food again!
Carpaccio di pesce spade - Raw sword fish
Eggplants with mozzarella and grilled vegetables
Bianco mangiare – white eating with cream and pistachio nuts
Ok, that's all for now!!!...I hope you enjoyed the reading!!!Ciao Ciao, Luca
