Dear Bloggers,
Welcome to lesson n. 2 of our V.I.P. appointment.
This time I would focus your attention on the most common questions that you would make during your trip to Italy. I’m sure it’ll happen that you’ll have to ask where something is, for example the station, a museum, or an hotel.
In this case you should say:
"Dov’è?" –“Where is?” and add what you need to know such as:
"Mi scusi, dov’è la stazione?" - "I'm sorry, where's the station?"
"Mi scusi dov’è un buon ristorante?" - "I'm sorry, where's a good restaurant?"
"Mi scusi, dov’è la posta?" - "I'm sorry, where's the post office?" and so on.
Another very useful question that you'll definitely need to ask is:
"Quanto costa? "-" How much does it cost? " :
"Scusi, quanto costa una bottiglia d’acqua?" - "I'm sorry how much is a bottle of water?"
"Scusi, quanto costa quella borsa?" - "I'm sorry how much Is that bag?"
"Scusi, quanto costa un taxi per la stazione?" - "I'm sorry, how much is a taxi to get to the station?"
You'll notice that before the question itself we always use the word "Mi scusi" - "I'm sorry", as well as in Japanese we use “sumimasen”.
After receiving an answer to our question, it’s important that you thank your interlocutor.
We have several ways to do it, but the best are definitely:
"Grazie mille" - "Thank you very much"
"Grazie mille, molto gentile" - "Thank you very much, it's very kind of you"
Lesson ends here for today, I hope you enjoyed it and had fun!
