Dear Bloggers,
Today I’d like to introduce you an organic farm in the south of Rome “ Agricoltura nuova” that in italian means new agricolture.
This is a very nice place where you can spend a day with your family or friends in a natural surroundings, having very tasty food and breathing the good atmosphere of the countryside.
An organic Farming has a form of cultivation and breeding that tend to enhance and preserve the biological systems of production, without the use of synthetic chemicals.
The word "organic" comes from the greek biologos, bios (life) and logos (word comprehension), then a word that has meaning for respect for life.
In fact, organic farming is a production method that does not use synthetic chemicals, maintains and improves the characteristics of the soil, respect the forms of life and beneficial organisms.
In order to safeguard the health of the environment, the consumer and the farmer himself.
Here at “Agricoltura nuova” you can dine at their restaurant during day time.
This is a very simple restaurant, so do not expect fashion style or exquisite manners of service, but home feeling is granted because eveybody is very nice and friendly.
As you can see , menù is written on a big paper sheet in order to avoid plastic menù.
This is what I had for lunch.
Bruschetta, fried eggplant, cheese and salami
Soup of chickpeas and potatoes ( if you like soups, this is a must!!!)
Home made pasta with tomato, eggplants and cheese
Roastbeef with apple creame, sausage, fried vegetables and salad
After eating you can have a walk outside and have a look at how an organic farm looks and works like.
Just outside the restaurant area, there’s a swing for children. Pictures is taken from a little bit far, but I can guarantee they were really having fun!
During your visit you can meet an old track
as well as a big and enchanting barn.
Of course, animals can’t miss in a farm, and here we have cows, pigs and sheep!
To finish the tour you can make some shopping at their organic shop and bring at home some very good products!
They have plenty of natural products as oil , cheese, wine , jams and so on.
I hope reading was interesting for you and if you may think to get there you can find “Agricoltura nuova” at Via Valle di Perna, 315 – Roma, it’s just a 15 minutes driving from Metro B Eur Palasport.
Bye Bye! Luca
