OUR CURRENCY

Dear bloggers,
Today I’d like to talk about something that everyone will be able to see in Italy , our money !
Really they are not only our own, as the euro is used in most European countries, but I think might be interesting for you to have a small preview of the currency you’ll use in Italy.
Let's start with coins .
We have coins of 1,2,5,10,20 and 50 cents , 1 euro and 2 euros.
For convenience, I put the pictures only of those who have more value , 1 Euro and 2 Euro .
This is the 1 Euro coin .

With 1 Euro you can buy for example a small bottle of water at the bar , you can drink a coffee , buy a box of candies or even buy a stamp to send a postcard in Japan.
This is the 2 Euro coin .

With 2 Euro you can buy for example a sandwich at the bar , you can drink a cappuccino and have a croissant , buy a ticket for the subway , or a slice of pizza !
Let’s go ahead with the banKnotes .
We have banknotes for 5,10,20,50,100,200 and 500 Euro .
Again, for convenience I’ll show photo of the ones you’ll use the most.

This is the 5 Euro banknote. Currently we use 2 different ones .

The one on the left is the old banknote, replaced by that on the right, but perfectly still in use.
With 5 Euro you can buy for example a pasta dish , or a salad in a bar, a pack of cigarettes , a magazine, a few groceries in supermarkets or a beer or a glass of wine in a pub.

This is the 10 Euro banknote .

With this you can start doing more things .
In some bar at lunchtime you can have a complete meal by taking a first dish or a second , water and coffee , you can buy a day pass for the subway and buses in Rome , you can eat a pizza dish , buy an umbrella in case of rain or buy a cellphone card to call from Italy to Japan.

This is the 20 Euro banknote .

With this one person can eat in a few cheap restaurants during the dinner hour , you can buy some souvenirs and in some stores even some clothes , t -shirt or pants. You can pay the entry into a museum or an exhibition !

This is the 50 Euro banknote .

With this you do not have big problems to find a good restaurant where to have dinner . Usually a person can eat and drink at a good restaurant with less than 50 Euro . You can spend more, but it depends mostly on the quality of the wine you choose to drink!

With 50 euros you can buy a train ticket from Rome to Florence , for example, or buy one of H.I.S. walking tour for Florence , Pisa, Venice and Milan, but for this I kindly ask you to ask for more information at our offices !
