today I’d like to introduce to you:  “IN MEZZO AL MARE” restaurant. It is a restaurant situated in Neptune, a city located on the border of the Agro Romano and the Pontine Marshes . It is a city of the Lazio coast and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Neptune is an Italian town of 48.000 habitants , the metropolitan capital of Rome , Italy.

It is the direct continuer of the ancient historic city of Antium, spa town and resort in Roman times . Later , from the Renaissance until the Unification of Italy , Neptune was the fief of various families of Lazio , while during Fascism was united in a single city administration ( Nettunia ) with neighboring Anzio.

Tourist activity is crucial for Neptune . During the summer season the streets and squares of the city are crowded with tourists and people of all ages , from all towns. The sea attract tourists by day while in the evening is the lively old town full of characteristic premises of various types. The history and sites of interest invite many people to admire its beauty . It is the reason because I knew it. I spent my short holiday there the last weekend and during my walk I discovered this beautiful restaurant: “in Mezzo al mare”.

the restaurant is managed by a cooperative of fishermen who usually food based on what fishing. My menu it was the following:

I ate really well ( too much) and the staff was professional and friendly. If you like seafood and you're on the coast of Lazio in the summer, I will recommend to try it ;).
