Dear Bloggers,

come with me! happy01 I will take you to eat a nice Pinsa (and not only) in Rome at the restaurant L’Albero Cocciuto (translation for “the stubborn tree”).restaurant

The atmosphere is typical of a pub, a bit dark and intimate, with a beautiful tree inside the room, highlight the entire decor.

The Pinsa, this delicacy, born long time ago in the countryside of Lazio, has indeed become in recent years a real must in the city.
What differs from the more well-known cousin, the Pizza, is mainly the dough, made from a particular mix of flour and extremely hydrated, making it crisp on the outside, soft and fragrant inside but especially lighter and digestible.heart01

The restaurant is very small but also quaint, and inside reproduces a sort of forest with trees, adorned with fairy lights, ranging from wall to wall.bud

In fact the walls and ceiling are covered by the roots of a tree, all decorated with dim lights suspended from the industrial mood that infuse an intimacy and romance environment.heart04

It is as if you are sitting in the middle of nature. clovermaplecherryblossom

Even the beer is served in a very special earthenware mug, a shard (from here the name “stubborn tree”) like in medieval times. It is also accompanied by vegan meatballs with a mild mustard sauce.beer

You can find a good selection of beers, wine and spirits. They also have very good home-made desserts. And there is also the possibility to sit out. The restaurant itself is very nice and has some tables on the road and others indoors.

I love to eat the Pinsa under the large and beautiful branches that cover the ceiling of the restaurant L’Albero Cocciuto.

Before moving to the specialties of the house, I recommend you to taste the Pinselle, the mixture is the one of the Pinsa but they are fried and served with various tasty sauces, as the delicious cheese and pepper or amatriciana or more delicate as the vegetarian bean-based.restaurant

The menu is full of fantastic proposals and the food is really good: original italian cuisine, tasty, well prepared and presented.
We chose from the menu  two starters (the Pinselle, of course, and a wooden paddle with lots of thing on it),

8

two main dishes (hamburger fastfood with chips and breaded chicken with pistachios and walnuts),

10

and some Pinsa (one with tuna and onions and the other with sausages).

The pinsa is served on long wooden paddles, resting on a base placed on your table.

11

You can choose from a palette (small) or paddle (large).

12

It is all also served in very large portions, considering the price, moderate, neither too expensive nor cheap, so you are guaranteed to be full when you leave.catface

We could not finish the Pinsa because the food we ordered was huge, so we brought it at home in a carton container they provided to us.
Offering take-away service you can safely take away what you are not been able to consume.

Plus the place has nice ambience and the owner is very welcoming, friendly and helpful in choosing the dishes. The young waiters are polite and efficient and the service is strongly customer focused.run

Moreover, L’Albero Cocciuto is not just a restaurant but also a bar, in short, a perfect place to eat, but also to have a drink with friends because of an excellent selection of beers proposals and cocktails.winebar

It worth to try this restaurant! I highly recommend reservations on the weekend.

It is a local well-located near the archaeological park of Aqueducts, between Metro stations Subaugusta and Giulio Agricola (Line A), in Viale Appio Claudio, and it is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 18:30 to 2:00 a.m.

Address: Viale Appio Claudio, 221 Roma.

Telephone number: 0039 06 64780600.
