Hi to everybody!
For this new blog I would introduce you Umbria and its natural landscape telling you my last week-end spent in 2 of the most popular place of this region: Spoleto and Cascate delle Marmore.
We started our trip from Roma and reached Spoleto by train.
Spoleto, with a long history, is one of the main tourist centers of Umbria, as well as the importance of its archaeological monuments, early medieval and Renaissance, for the interesting cultural events that take place there.
As soon as we deposited our luggages we started immediately to visit the city and its beautiful monuments:
Duomo
Il ponte delle torri
The day after we left Spoleto and decided to visit Cascate delle Marmore in Terni
The Waterfalls, which are immersed in a natural scenery of incomparable beauty, are an artificial work due to the Romans. The area of Marmore Falls offers to the tourists the possibility to visit a wide excursion area composed by a natural park and
from the 5 routes of different length and difficulty....we chosen the more difficult.....!
The spectacle of the Waterfalls can only be admired during the opening hours which depending on the seasons . It was in fact due to the abbundance of these waters and the energy they generate that it was possible to establish the metal-working, electrochemical and electric industries at Terni.
To reach them it’ very easy especially by train:
Rome – Ancona Line, Terni Railway. Taxi or bus service from Terni (10 minutes).
I suggest you to visit this beautiful place but please don’t forget rain jacket!!!
Bye bye!
Simona
To sleep we chose a beautiful hotel located in the centre of the city: Cavaliere Palace Hotel
