Dear bloggers,
Today I’d like to talk about the restaurant - "Trattoria Re di Roma”.
The main difference between a restaurant and a "trattoria" is that usually in the
fist one you can find a more sophisticated atmosphere and the customer is
treated with adequate kindness, in seconds, "trattoria", more attention is paid to
the substance, the cuisine typically local together with a no frills service.
Let's start by saying that beyond the food which I will talk about later, the thing
that pleasantly surprised me was the friendliness of the owner of the club, Mr.
Antonio.
Rarely in a “trattoria”, but even in a restaurant, I have found so much kindness
and friendliness.
Mr. Antonio is completely dedicated to his customers, providing explanations on
the plates, giving advice on the best dishes and entertaining with great
simplicity and kindness his guests.
Unfortunately it is a bit 'shy and I couldn’t take a picture of him, but you won’t
have problem to recognize him since he’ s the only one he who takes orders and
serves at the tables!
The restaurant is very rustic, simply furnished, but very comfortable, like being at home!
The owner put a picture of two very beloved roman actors as Alberto Sordi and Monica Vitti to give a touch of roman identity at its "trattoria".Look at the picture they're eating!!!
Ok, let's talk about food, this is what I and my friends have eaten:
-antipasto - starter - fennel salad with oranges and black olives
-bruschette – mix of baked bread with olive paste, tomato and ham
-carciofo alla romana – roman artichokes - a real must! I personally recommend this!
-spaghetti cacio e pepe - spaghetti with cheese and pepper-typical from roman cusine
-trippa alla romana - tripe and offal of bovine with tomato sauce, pecorino and mint – another must of the roman cusine try it once in a life time!
-cake with ricotta and chocolate- personally I haven’t eat it but my friend said it was delicous
The restaurant is located in Tuscolana 45, two minutes walk from the Metro King of Rome, of which it takes its name!
Hope to meet you there once and hope you enjoied the suggestion!
A presto Luca
