Dear All,

Today I will talk you about Valle d'Aosta: a mountainous semi-autonomous region in northwestern Italy.

It's a very popular tourist destination, especially at this time of the year.

The Valle d'Aosta is the smallest Italian region and is located in the middle of the Alps, surrounded by four of the highest mountains in Italy and Europe (Mont Blanc, Cervino, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso) and crossed by the Dora Baltea important tributary of the Po River.

The most important also the highest mountain in Italy is Mont Blanc with its 4810 m.

If you want you have the opportunity to hike safely on the massif of Mont Blanc accompanied by a mountain guide and make a very adventurous experience.

MontBlanc is also the "montain of VIPs", At his foot in fact there is the town of Courmayeur, popular destination for the many ski slopes and shops of the famous brands.

The regional capital is Aosta, located in the middle of the Valle d'Aosta.

At the center of the city there is the Chanoux Square, site of many important buildings such as the town hall and the Hôtel des États.

The city is characterized by a clear Roman influence, as can be seen by the presence of monuments such as the Roman theater and the Gates Prætoria. Inside the Roman theater there are also the famous Christmas markets, which have always been one of the favorite attractions for tourists from all over the world.

It's also famous friendliness and hospitality of the inhabitants of the Aosta Valley; they are proud to offer their specialties such as cheese fondue, crepes Valdostana or braised with polenta.

For all these reasons it is definitely worth spending a few days holiday in this beautiful region!

Happy New Year!

Sara
