Dear bloggers,
today I’d like to give you some information about the work in progress at Rome Fiumicino airport.
Recently I have been there for a trip and I have noticed that they have changed and improved all passport controls for the international boarding, dramatically decreasing the waiting time on the queues.
All passengers with electronic passport will now jump the line and pass the controls through an electronic scan control.
I’m not a frequent flyer, but it looks much more better and easy than before :)
In addiction by the end of this year, a completely new boarding area with innovative services and new shopping areas will be completed, granting an higher passenger capacity at the whole airport.
This a part of a project consisting in two new boarding areas E, and F. The E area will be ready by December 2016 for the area F will have to wait a little bit more.
This is what the new area will look like at the end of the works.
Wish you all a good journey, and see you in Rome soon.
Luca
