are you hungry? Today I will talk about a restaurant called Grandma.
“Grandma” is the name of the project that was born in the winter of 2011 by the work of four young friends. They decided to try to give life to the local of their dreams, a unique and welcoming place to meet their greatest passion: the cooking.
Thus it was born, in the heart of the old and genuine Quadraro, an area on the outskirts of Rome. It is a small bistrot by the multifaceted vocation, that combines quality cuisine, designed as a review of the Grandmothers recipes, with a special attention to the beverage, ranging from organic wines to craft beers and cocktails.
The restaurant has an excellent price/quality ratio.

Put attention to the Grandma’s philosophy: from its menu, firmly committed to the seasonality of raw materials, to the auto-production of the bread, made almost exclusively with yeast, biological and wholemeal flour.

The dishes are surprising for their originality and taste. The cuisine is varied; there are more home-cooked meals (usually revisited) and always very good special dishes.

We took “fior di lasagna”, an homemade lasagna with creamed cod, zucchini dried flowers and buffalo mozzarella.

“Fish and chips”, fresh cod fillet in corn batter and almonds, with potato chips with red curry and mayonnaise made with onion.

A “Majeur Thon”, a seared tuna served with curly lettuce, cherry tomatoes, sprouts and spicy basil sauce.

And finally we took a pudding with caramel and vanilla cream.

Plus the place has nice ambience and the young people working in it are very welcoming, friendly and helpful in choosing the dishes.

The local is pleasantly furnished with objects taken from the homes of the grandmothers of the owners.

The place is very nice and cozy, with a lively service by attentive guys and very approachable. The young owners/waiters are polite and efficient and the service is strongly customer focused.

I really suggest you to try this restaurant but I highly recommend reservations on the weekend

Moreover, Grandma is not just a restaurant but you can also have an English breakfast and a soft lunch on the Sunday mornings.

It is a local located near the Metro Porta Furba Quadraro (Line A), in Via dei Corneli, 25/27, and it is open from Monday to Saturday from 18:00 to 2:00 a.m, and on Sunday from 12:00 to 16:00 and from 18:00 to 01:00 a.m.
