Dear Bloggers,
this is my grandmother's apple pie recipe. I have never eaten another one better than the one she was used to make me. It will always be my favorite ever.
I hope it becomes one of your favorites as well!
Ingredients:
2/3 apples
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
10 tablespoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 teaspoon of salt
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups of flour
1 cup of milk
Preheat oven to 180 degrees. First of all prepare the apples : peel, core and chop them into slices. Toss with a bit of cinnamon and sugar and set aside.
Stir together eggs, added one at a time, with salt, sugar, oil and vanilla in a large mixing bowl.
Mix wet ingredients into the dry ones whisking together flour, baking powder and cinnamon. And finally add milk.
Scrape down the bowl to ensure all ingredients are incorporated and place it in your pan. Fill with apples, mounded slightly, spreading the apples over the mixture in an ordinated way.
Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce the temperature to 175 degrees C. Continue baking for 30 minutes, until apples are soft and until a tester comes out clean.
The cake is very tasty even if eaten hot, but, like all the cakes made with fruits, it gets better the second day, when the apples juice seep further into the cake.
Ok, and now let’s go and have a piece of my cake!
