As many of you already know, Pearl Harbor is well known for Arizona Memorial and Battleship Missouri.
Well Ford Island has another attraction which opened door to public on Dec. 7, 2006, Pacific Aviation Museum.
This project has 4 Phases, at this moment only phase I is completed.
Phase I is the Hanger 37, which consists Exhibit Area, Theater, Education Center, Gift Shop, Restaurant and flight Simulators.
Phase I Exhibits from "Zero" to "B-25."
▲ "Zero" ▲ "B-25"
Phase II will Exhibit WWII Pacific Theater and Phase III and IV will Exhibit Korea, Vietnam and the Cold War. How fast this project moves depends on donations from the public.
Theater shows a short movie of 10-15min. of Pearl Harbor attack.
Gift Shop had lots of items from DVD to Books to Clothing to Toys for children.
I really wanted to try the Flight Simulator but decided not embarrass myself.
P.S. Ford Island has been designated as National Historic Landmark and has other projects in progress.

アロハ!I'VE DOUBLED CHECKED WITH PACIFIC AVIATION MUSEUM OFFICE TODAY AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAVE NO PLANS TO CLOSE THE GIFT SHOP AT THIS TIME. I'VE ASKED IF THEY HAVE PLAN IN NEAR FUTURE TO CLOSE THE GIFT SHOP AND REPLY WAS NO. -

アロハ!It's a shame that you have not visited Pearl Harbor. You could travel by your self or by Tour.If you have enough time to spare, I would recommend to go by your self. But if you don't time to spare, I would recommend Tour.I hope I've answered your question.mm
